The Top 20 Ways President George W. Bush Destroyed America

While the right likes to point to the 17 trillion we have in debt, they act as though Obama has spent $17 trillion himself.  He inherited 8 trillion, plus a budget for his first year that was crafted by the Bush administration that pushed it up another trillion.  So he had 9 trillion in debt that he's inherited. Bush started with a surplus and left Obama with 9 trillion.  Obama runs up 8 trillion, in part by funding a war and it's associated costs that was started 6 years earlier, which is less than Bush ran up.  Back when Bush was setting that precedent, all we heard was "USA USA" and "yer fer us or agin us".  All we've heard from them under Obama is how our grandkids will suffer.  But....in the highly unlikely event our new president emerges from the clown car know as the republican party....I would expect to hear the voices of concern over the debt subside...even though it continues to rise.

It's a ' tie ' 700, between El Chimpo letting the banks do whatever they wanted with the worthless mortgages, and invading IRAQ !

Or Clinton leaning on the banks to float mortgages to people on welfare which El Chimpo had to eventually deal with.

Cracks me up still using Bush.  lol

Yeah...why blame Bush when we all know it was Clintons...and even CARTER's fault.  Damn those poor people.  Still trying to find the law that "forced" banks to make no doc loans.  Still trying to find the legislation that forced banks to package CDO's with crap.  Still trying to find the laws that forced banks to make loans, then bet against them.

Yes...the old reliable "But Clinton signed it".  Clinton also signed the ratification of NAFTA.  Both things were dreams of the Reagan administration, but all of the crap that resulted from both is placed on Clinton because "he signed it".  And we wonder why Obama never wanted to "reach across the aisle".  Republicans...the party of bad ideas.  And they won't claim ownership of anything that goes south.

"Barney Frank threatens Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, and other banks on housing!"
"House Financial Services Committee Ranking Member Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said Friday that he would reintroduce legislative language next week that would require large financial institutions to pay for federal mortgage assistance programs."
