There is someone trying to stop our jobs from leaving

...ah yes, because no real American mechanic has EVER used or done anything wrong. The system worked is what this says to me. A mistake was made. It was caught. It is being corrected BEFORE anybody was hurt. You have a better chance keeping jobs here and high paying the same way AA is...by providing a service that may cost more up front, but is on-time and efficient in how it tackles the problem.

We were doing that at Delta, that didn't stop them from outsourcing all of our overhauls.

No airline makes the decision to outsource overseas for any other reason than for MONEY. Follow the dollars. If you want an eye opener go to any large MRO and take a look around. They are busier than snot. They have more work than they can handle. They are generally short staffed and have no open slots except for the occassional emergency repair for an airline that does business with them. Its the same overseas. The MROs in Europe don't have an open slot (a month or more) for years in their schedule. Want to do something smart? Start a repair station for the heavy maintenance visits of airlines. An Airline will go anywhere it can get a slot. Today its Korea, tomorrow?
