UA's Canadian employees have now taken the hit

Outsourcing good, insorucing bad.
Yea we got it...
Across the industry.

Leslie Dias, a national representative for Unifor, which represents the workers at Pearson, said employees were told to attend a noon meeting on Thursday, even if it was their day off.

“That was the only inkling that something very unusual was going happen,” she said in an interview. “They are devastated.”

United Airlines says it plans to contract out the work to another company, and the union can bring forward a counter-proposal that needs to reduce costs by half, Dias added.

Bless the employees that are getting the shaft.

AA is the only US carrier now that has mainline personnel at YYZ. Sad for the employees impacted.

I wonder why UA still even had their own employees in Canada given the co-operation they've had with * alliance partner AC for almost 20 years now.
