UGLY,.....Even For HIM !!

The fact is the unemployment numbers are very inflated because the federal government is giving people $600 a week to stay home.

It simply cost too much money to go back to work.

Why go get a $12 to $15 dollar an hour job when you can sit at home on your ass and collect 15 dollars an hour from the federal government plus state. In all likelihood unemployment is paying these people over 20 an hour, far more than most of them can get working.
That argument doesn't float.Every state has a clause on refusing a return to work and losing your UC. An employer pays a higher amount into your UC account when not employed and there is no incentive for him to keep you out of work.

You are missing some facts.

delldude in my state (Oklahoma) the work search requirement was lifted due to COVID.

I am sure my state is not the only one.

My argument floats like a boat.

Do my employees have to look for other work while the business is closed?
No, work search requirements have been temporarily waived for all unemployment insurance recipients.

https://oesc.ok.gov/
Do I have to make work searches during the COVID-19 pandemic?
No. At this time the OESC has waived the work search requirement due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the required number of work search contacts is zero, individuals should respond “yes” when asked if the required number of work search contacts have been made when filing a weekly claim for benefits.

Question 3: What are the requirements for searching for work in order to receive unemployment benefits during the current COVID-19 crisis?
Short answer: There is no search requirement for the first 26 weeks. For the remaining 13 weeks, a claimant must be searching for employment. Explanation: Under normal circumstances, an applicant must submit a certain number of applications or put in a certain number of hours at the work center. This has changed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. • OESC has waived the work search requirements for Oklahoma claimants (OESC did not want people out in public and having to search for employment at a time when the public is being asked to implement social distancing). • So, for the first 26 weeks of unemployment, the work search requirements are waived. • In the last 13 weeks, claimants must be searching for work pursuant to the provisions of the federal CARES Act.

Just a little joke La'.
Naturally I'm sure everyone on here hopes you return to best health asap. I was hoping at least that you'd be back on your feet 100% by 11/03, when the Orange MORON gets defeated !
You seem awfully sure of that outcome.

Do you think Biden is going to be a good president? He seems to be suffering from senility.

What a choice we have, a narcissist or someone suffering from dementia.

I also question Biden's "affections" for young girls. Makes me wonder if he is a pedophile.

Then again hearing Trump call his daughter a hot piece of ass turned my stomach.

It's like having a choice between Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

Helen Keller said of democracy in the US: "Our democracy is but a name. We vote? What does that mean? It means that we choose between two bodies of real, though not avowed, autocrats. We choose between Tweedledum and Tweedledee."

Given their political ideology I hope Trump wins.

Are you implying that other states are requiring work searches?

How many?

Which ones?

Where is your proof? I proved my state does not require work searches. I gave 5 points of validation.

You always make these comments but you never validate what you say. Unless you can provide some proof that the majority of other states DO require work searches your comment about Oklahoma unemployment rules not being representative has no merit.

Of course you want the BABOON.

I just happen to be more aligned with his conservative policies.

Much like you are more aligned with Biden's liberal policies.

Being an OKIE has nothing to do with it. Believe it or not there are plenty of Democrats that live in Oklahoma.

I was furloughed by my employer, but they have now reopened and asked me to return to my job. Can I remain on unemployment?
No. As a general matter, individuals receiving regular unemployment compensation must act upon any referral to suitable employment and must accept any offer of suitable employment. Barring unusual circumstances, a request that a furloughed employee return to his or her job very likely constitutes an offer of suitable employment that the employee must accept.

While eligibility for PUA does not turn on whether an individual is actively seeking work, it does require that the individual be unemployed, partially employed, or unable or unavailable to work due to certain circumstances that are a direct result of COVID-19 or the COVID-19 public health emergency. In the situation outlined here, an employee who had been furloughed because his or her employer has closed the place of employment would potentially be eligible for PUA while the employer remained closed, assuming the closure was a direct result of the COVID-19 public health emergency and other qualifying conditions are satisfied. However, as soon as the business reopens and the employee is recalled for work, as in the example above, eligibility for PUA would cease unless the individual could identify some other qualifying circumstance outlined in the CARES Act.

Alright delldude point taken.

I suppose if you are recalled to your former employer and you turn it down yes that would result in a denial of benefits.

However if you are laid off you have no incentive and no requirement to look for another job in the state of Oklahoma.

I stand by my original statement.
The fact is the unemployment numbers are very inflated because the federal government is giving people $600 a week to stay home.

It simply cost too much money to go back to work.

There are PLENTY of jobs out there, but who is motivated to take them?

So yes, saying 40 MILLION people are out of work is very misleading and more political than anything. They paint the false narrative that these people can not find jobs and that is absolutely not true. They are CHOOSING to stay unemployed.

Couple that with the people that have taken voluntary leaves of absence who are collecting unemployment.
So yes that $600 is absolutely resulting in inflated unemployment numbers and yes that statement absolutely holds water.
