Figured UAL would beat Delta's % raises but by 12.2% is a good beat. It's usually by a mere 2-6% average over other airlines. Now Pilots at other airlines nego contracts have a new marker to go by.
And this is why Delta loves to start the industry wages. 1- It keeps the unions out in other groups. 2- They are praised for taking care of their employees FIRST, but then fall to the back of the pack and saves the most $$$ by all the other airlines beating their first in industry wages. Smart Delta. 3- Delta can charge less of the big 3 for tickets both domestic as well as international flights. Win-win for Delta to always make the first move, and an advantage.
Up to 40.2% increases! Wow! That's a lot when already banking 250K-350K. Union puts full price tag at 10 Billion+, will that be too much down the road?? How long to make up or back the cost of the 10B cost??? Markets must remain robust for a long time going forward for sure.
Congrats to the UAL Pilots if they vote to accept...
