There is no 'irony'.
Flying today sucks!
I used to love to fly, now I would rather drive than have a 'cramped space' in a crowded tube.

I fly SFO-MCI three or four times a year on United.
1500 miles - 3-1/2 hours.  No room, no food, 
no entertainment and no channel 9.  No mainline
flight.  A CRJ-700 operated by SkyWest whose
captain is younger than my grandchildren.
Yes, these are the friendly skies of today.
