Earlier today, United released its December traffic results (view the press release here). The carrier achieved a 78.4% system load factor for the month, one of the highest system load factors among the carriers that have reported so far. Also interesting was the fact that United's Atlantic and Pacific load factor percentages were well into the 80s, with both regions seeing positive year-over-year RPM comparisons. Now we'll just need to wait and see how good the monthly and quarterly financials turn out (which should be reported in about three weeks), especially if United continued to see above average yield and RASM improvements in December.
