Piney. You sense the real problem. The lowest time pilot at U has approaching 16 years on the property...most airline pay rates max out at 10 to 12 years. So applying any other pay scale with a years of service rise pretty much puts every pilot at U at the top of any scale. Wish we could all be a little younger to counteract that fact! Also, back in 97, the U pilots ageed to put the Airbus(a few minor differences, now gone with C11),MD80, and 73 aircraft under one payscale. That right there saved a lot of training moves. The 757 stayed with the 767 payscale, since it was a common cockpit duel bid situation. The F-100 and group 4 payscales (F28, maybe BAC 146) don't really even matter since they are gone. U is almost there. If the 73's and 75/76 are replaced with AB, U mainline could truly be down to about 2 payscales.....widebody and narrowbody. Hope we live to see that day. Best. 1. Rate were all over the place. Some entry level rates were obscenely low.
2. The LCC's were noy only lower but like their fare structures were of a "One Size Fits all" nature.
The second observation seems to be the area were US could consolidate and streamline the pilot rate structure. Also interesting is the entry F/O rate for US was among the highest. Could? Givien the age of the pilot group be a way for long term savings without to much pain for the current group?
This thread is POINTLESS!!!! Poster, just happened to quote your post. All previous posters to this thread: WHO CARES WHAT PILOTS MAKE!!!!!!!!! This is a ridiculous argument!!i Could care less what a pilot/FO make, thats their business, and is what their union negotiated for them. This thread is CLASS ENVY at its worst!!!!! Worry about what is before us(f/a,maint.etc)STOP the class envy bullshit!!!!fatherabraham said:15+ year FO u pilot on B737 = 104
15+ year FO SW pilot on B737 = 118
Interesting difference, add to that the fact that SW pilots have
Captain slots long before the 15 year point and i believe they
average fewer days per month to achieve their pay
heard of one lucky very senior SW pilot who retired @ market peak and received
$10 Million from his stock options. i am sure that must be the unusual exception.
I agree. Who cares what a cleaner makes.NeedForSpeedNFS said:This thread is POINTLESS!!!! Poster, just happened to quote your post.
