They may be holding out for Alaska wages/benefits. However, there is a difference. Alaska has been making money. Virgin has not (or I'm assuming so. Why would they be up for sale if they were in the green?) Also, as mentioned in the article, this should get interesting if/when they blend the two workgroups together--assuming they do. There's always the possibility that Alaska will operate Virgin as a wholly-owned subsidiary like American does with Envoy (aka American Eagle). There is no "crossover" between flight attendant groups. If a f/a wants to move from AE to AA, they go through the same hiring and training process that someone off the street goes through. Then their seniority is determined from the date they began training for AA.
