War Dead

This evening, as we prepared to taxi from Shuttle Gate 19 in Boston, a convoy of 20 police cars, lights flashing, and one black Cadillac hearse, made their way across our path. We yielded to them as they made their way. Captain John Marckesano God bless those that honored that fellow as they passed. Boston is a town to be proud of! They are fine people, I was impressed. It was a very tough few moments for us. NEVER FORGET!

May God help the family in their darkest time.

My post was corrupted. The convoy was a soldier who died in Iraq. We were very touched by the honorable police response. They are eternal patriots. We are both vets, we were so touched by the impressive escort of that fallen hero. Boston is some fine town! I am from Seattle!

The entire city should stop whenever one of our troops returns home in this manner.

Pray for all our troops home and abroad....may they return home soon....unharmed.

I agree, We must all stand firm and get the politics out of the WAR we are waging against these fanatics! We must not forget our fallen soldiers, and those who remain in Iraq/Afghanistan. Remember...whatever you think, we are there, we need to stop the divisions, and unite with our troops for complete backing from us here at home. Certain politicians using this for personal, political gain, is UN-AMERICAN!!!! GOOD DAY!!!....MORE LATER!!!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

Uh excuse me, is the implication that if you do not support the war that is unAmerican? That sounds fanatical to me if that's what you're saying. I think it's perfectly fine to support the troops who are giving their lives under orders that they are obeying for a corrupt politician who is waging war for his cronies' financial gain.

To imply that you must support President Bush to be patriotic is a complete warping and bastardization of the term into a Communist point of view - you MUST SUPPORT THE STATE.

Before this Post gets out of hand...

I just want to say no matter what your personal beliefs...

please stop and think about the soldiers and their families that are not only fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan but around the world today.

It's Memorial Day, I am thinking of you today...

In case you forgot, this is a war against terrorism. Don't you remember Sep. 11th. The terrorists started this. We didn't want it, but it is there anyway. We are just trying to make sure it does not happen again.

No, it is not.

Al Qaeda had no presence in Iraq until after we invaded the country with inadequate force to maintain law and order during the ensuing occupation.

For those who equate support for this misguided war with patriotism, please be mindful of these words by one of our greatest presidents:

Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President or any other public official save exactly to the degree in which he himself stands by the country.

-Theodore Roosevelt
