I'm just going to guess that the most egregious eminent domain abuse isn't taking place in conservative areas.

It's more often used in cities than not, and as you saw in the Georgia example, there wasn't a clear public good demonstrated by allowing a pipeline to be built without requiring KM to actually negotiate and pay for the land they wanted to use...

That's not to say it doesn't happen in red states, BTW. The City of Arlington tried getting the last few parcels needed for Jerry Jones' new football palace by condemnation, but most homeowners who stood their ground got settlements well above market rates. Others, not so much.

The fact still remains that many people did get screwed by the city of arlington and that the city confiscated land for private use. Not the intent of eminent domain.

I think it would be more appropriate to say that in both cases, the people being victimized were not affluent.

As YOU Well Know, the Supreme court case, which the Eminent Domainers Won was in New London CT. Guess who was the Biggest Eminent Domainer ?   ......................................P H I Z E R   !!!
Anyway, yours truly was living in the next city across the Thames River in Groton, CT(Home of ..T H E most Lethal weapon...bar non, in the US military/Ohio class Nuke subs)........ at the time.
 
So yea, I appaude my Red Neck 'friends' was having Intestinal Fortitude !
