The regionals. We need to get to mid 2006 for the true concessions, etc to take effect. And we fully expect another round of cuts...

Rumors are flying around the ASA GO about a possible 3 way deal involving ASA, SKYW, and Virgin/Branson.

Today's USA TODAY says a Delta bankruptcy is real close. My question, will they go chp.11 or chp. 7?
Guess i'll use up my limited dal miles.

U and UA will be in chp 7 long before DL. Besides, we still have at least three or four rounds of concessions before we catch up with U.

ah, don't be too sure about that. i know you guys at dal would love too see us go but i don't think we are going anywhere any time soon. we already did what we had to do in the labor side of things and it looks like we are getting money from investors. alot of you people thought we would be down and out by mid jan but guess what ,still kickin. it aint over till its over. worry about your own house cause its in deep poop. hopefully things will turn out well for dal and us.

Delta is a LONG way of from Chapter 7. UA is showing that the judges don't really care and you can stay in for a LONG time. UA and US are just showing DL how to do it in BK court. Just my thoughts......

Where O where is World Traveler. I need to hear why THIS is such a great strategy on Delta's part. He is amazingly absent when things look bad for his beloved airline.

see my other post. I'm out keeping the revenue coming in but then Ms. Fly doesn't even realize that the 1st quarter is a prime business travel period.

It's no surprise that DL has just inked a deal with Republic at the same time Republic steps forward to take over much of US's E170 flying. DL has used RJs to its advantage for a decade. I don't think you'll see a simple sell off of the regionals. Not quite sure I understand the 3 way deal mentioned above but I'm sure whatever DL does with regard to asset sales will involve as much strategy and industry control as it does in raising cash.

UN-ENCUMBERED assets is the real difference. Delta spent so long having a primary business plan that counted on other airlines going out of business, touting their high cash balance, and bragging about the lack of unionized workers that this is not going to be a soft landing in ch 11. By definition what does DAL have to get DIP financing? Sell some regionals and get some more cash to burn at the highest rate in the industry by far. You better hope for many more fare increases to happen, and soon, or Chapter 7 will happen in some form.

The selling of your regional assets could be interpeted as the start of an orderly liquidation....where will it end?

Good Luck.

Tech Ops.. Sell it off.. Get rid of all your Mtc but Line.. Send it to Copesa or TACA.. Make it a quick death for the technicians.. Don't drag it out.

Typical Management, they can't see the forest because the trees are in the way!!

Good luck to all of you in Tech Ops.. Your doomed..

its not really up to a judge for it to be a CH 7 or a CH 11. UA has been able to stay in CH 11 for so long because they continue to get sources of financing. If Delta goes into BK and no one will lend them money to operate, it will have to be CH 7. You can't operate without money no matter how lenient your judge is.
