Why is the IAM not telling fleet what was offered

Do a little research Freedom. The company knows the IAM elections are up in the air. Hopefully the new T/A if any will not be signed during the transition of CANALE etal. CWA transitioned during an election. The National and the Company did what they know to do best and it passed without membership ratification. During that period you had various presidents leaving, coming on and in run-offs. The company and the national union had carte blanche with CWA and the same will happen with the IAM. The newbies in place at the table right now will be backdoored all the way to Mexico , you just wait and see.......
Keep in mind, there are bargainers on these threads that have sat in and have seen the corruption that goes on in bargaining during an election. Lets just pray the newbies watch every move the IAM (Its A Mystery, according to Piney) and do not allow side bars with the National behind closed doors.

DON"T DELAY THE NEW CONTRACT. DOING SO WILL RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE MERGER AGREEMENT WITH A MUCH BIGGER AIRLINE CALLED "UNITED", WHERE OUR SENIORITY IS MUCH LOWER AND NOT A THREAT. PARKER, KIRBY AND ISOM ARE DROOLING OVER THAT BOHEMIAN ISLAND THEY PLAN TO ESCAPE TO AND REAP ALL REWARDS WITH THEIR STOCK OPTIONS TO GET OUT A>S>A>P !!!!

They don't give a d... about us, it is all about MONEY, MONEY, and MORE MONEY ! This is not a personality contest this is a BUSINESS. HUMAN BEINGS DO NOT COUNT$$$$$$$$$$$

Here is a short message from the IAM airline coordinator sent this morning.

What is it saying? Should we read between the lines. The question asked was very simple. Will the west see Pay Parity before 2009.

My remarks appearing in the Messenger were the report I gave to the delegates to the District 141 Convention in October, 2007. I still see hope of achieving a transition agreement that includes AWA parity, however, as I indicated in my 10-07 remarks that job is tougher now than in the Summer or Fall of 07, and not just due to the CIC outcome. The price of oil, plunging airline stock prices, a possible prolonged economic recession, management mistakes and our own divisions do not help either. Despite these setbacks there is still hope, but the window of opportunity will close at some point. I think the wisdom of the first tentative agreement that was rejected should now be obvious to all but the least knowledgeable, or those with a political agenda that suits there own and not the members interests.
In negotiations there are always factors that we can't control that impact the bargaining outcome. Many of those factors were more favorable last year, but there is still hope, particularly if we stick together.
In Solidarity,
Tom

your either all in or your out ... buddy , just cause it says 2009 , don't mean it will be done in 2009 ... think 2010 , 2011 ... we ain't waiting that long ... we've waited long enough ...

How we fare in talks is up to you , are you going to help us put some serious pressure on this company and get a better TA , or are you just going to sit in the break room and chat with me on usaviation.com ?

Also everyone don't forget to vote for Ron Roth on feb 5th at the road house hotel where we have our union meetings in tempe !

RON RON RON !!!!

voting for Ron is the least we can do to say THANK YOU for all of the hard work he's put in fighting for us ..

freedom
You are a confusing person. You rant "your either all in or your out ... buddy". Over the past few months you have changed your position like a chameleon. You yourself have stated you choose not to take the leadership role, and yes you sit in the break room chattin' away.
Don't chastise people for what you yourself can't do. It takes more than holding a camera at a meeting. You have to be willing to stand at the front and be willing to fight for what you believe. Where is your haterade now?
As for Ron Roth, how can you state on this board that you see the wrong in allowing language that gets rid of your brothers in the outstations jobs, and yet support a man who is willing to do just that.
I said it before, I SAW that movie already and know how it ends.

You have to cut your brothers throat in order to get the key to get out!

So, freedom, where do you think those 500 people will go? You don't think those high seniority people will move. Ask CLT what happens when the company cuts stations. They all migrate with all their high seniority. You go from dayshift weekends to nightshift weekdays in the blink of an eye. Bet Ron didn't tell you that.

RTails is correct. The IAM right now is in the position to stop a merger and hold this company by the ba$$s. If there isn't an agreement that will stall 2009 contract until 2012 then we all WIN for the time being.

I dare IAM to go in and get a transition without stalling new contract negotiations in 2009. The company will NOT pass a T/A without that language in place. TO ALL IAM LEADERS THAT ARE HONEST AT OUR TABLE RIGHT NOW.... PLEASE DON'T LYNCH ALL OF US AND SELL ALL UNION GROUPS DOWN THE RIVER. THERE WILL BE NO T/A SIGNED BY MR. A. WITHOUT THAT LANGUAGE INCLUDED IN IT !

I was watching the game. Ok first the offer was the offer, I believe the company's finacial situation was undetermined because of the merger. That was a merger agreement not a traditional sec 6 agreement. As far as the T/A being concessionary in nature I don't think so, we all wanted everything without consideration for the class 2 and the west, the T/A brought the class 2 up, it protected cargo, it eliminated the 60 day recall, it had improvments in sick leave, LOA, vacation, and pension ( have you seen the 401ks lately they are taking a beating).

So tell me. How do you feel about the 60 day rule not applied to those on furlough now? Don't you think their years of dues/service account for equalization?

, i don't hold the camera at the rally's but i DO show up when i can ... that's the first step , showing up , you have to get up and go outside of the break room in order to get something DONE , and rattales ,we have DONE it , this company is afraid of us ..
Secondly I think Ron Roth is working in our best interests , I don’t know what goes on in the negotiating room and I doubt you do either , all we can do is trust our leaders , and I trust ron ..
Thirdly I admit that I was wrong in supporting the last TA because it would have gotten rid of our field stations , and in retrospect that would have been a huge mistake , I no longer support that view point .
Finally , i don't have a problem with being brought back to low senority , it doesn't bother me one iota ...

A little of what went on in PHX today ....

THE DAY IS OURS !

This companies pure and unabashed FEAR of PHX fleet service has revealed just how “on the run “ we now have you …

Putting bolts on the gas caps of every piece of ground equipment ? Are you SERIOUS ? Are you KIDDING ME ?? Ah hahahhahahahah

Putting threatening messages in our computerized scheduling system warning us of discipline if we called in sick today ? Posting the same message in every break room , ah hahahha , there was never a serious sick out planed , hahahahahaha …

Double staff at the airport , Everywhere ? Flying in extra ground MX people from LAS ? Ah hahahahahahahahahahah

Roving security guards two men to each concourse, in ADDITION to bringing in additional management to rove up and down the ramp watching constantly ………. , what did this become a MAX SECURITY PRISION ? Ah hahahahahahahah ! You KILL me …..

Man not only did you SHOOT yourself in the foot with any remaining company men or new people who still work here , you took a SHOT GUN and blew your entire leg off!!! Ah hahahahahahah

Thank you corporate , you’ve done more to help the cause of solidarity than any rally , video or speech ever could !!! ah if you could only see the smile on my face , you guys blinked BIG time …

We are LIONS among sheep , we are SHARKS within the ocean …… the smell of blood is thick in the water ….

I'm sorry Freedom. I guess I don't see how any of this has the company "on the run." It just shows me they are protecting their assets from people looking to get revenge. I really don't think any of the above has any merit in negotiations.

Plus the security guards are probably for the super bowl, as they've stated publicly many times, as early as a year in advance they would.

Plus the extra MX is because we are flying a ton of extra flights than usual. 4 alone from PHX to PHL just for starters. I don't think a MX guy who is in the same boat, but from another city, is less likely to break a plane. Haha!

Just take a step back and reflect. We truly aren't doing much sitting Indian style in a circle until a plane comes in. The compay knows we're pissed, but as long as things don't break and operations go on time, we are nothing more than anxiety to them. Careful how you interpret this. You may be so worked up its affecting your judgement. I'm not trying to take sides, I'm just trying to be honest with you about this because I respect what you are trying to do.

In order to get our revenge, we need to reject ANY offer that is thrown at us. If they cannot merge with seperate labor groups, then it's our turn to give Parker 4 years of obstructionism while key assets are snapped up around him. We can wait 4 years for a raise, Parker needs to be taught a lesson.

Why hasn't Fleet Service gotten a date to go back to the table with the company. MX recieved a date after their negotiations ended. Why not Fleet Service? Is most of the I'll Ask Management's negotiating committee too afraid that they will lose their jobs, rather than fight for ours?

You've been skipped over. At this point management will talk with MX and see what can get hammered out, they will come back later, but based on what they offered, and what the Ramp was asking for there is really no point in talking since the two side are so far apart.

Spoken like a true company man. Thank you for your honesty. It's about time the I'll Ask Management was honest with Fleet Service.

Allright, so our transition negotiations have been shelved. What about Section 6 negotiations for the West. They should have been ongoing for the last 2 years. In fact the West, if the I'll Ask Management hadn't dropped the ball, should be able to ask the NMB for the 30 day cooling off period. But since the I'll Ask Management did what dougweiser wanted, that won't happen now. So I guess my question is, are Section 6 negotiations scheduled for the West?

OK Irish! Since you know so much, what is the point in talking???????

We know what was offered, we also know that the IAM and the workers said No Way!!!!! Until something changes there is no point. If you like exercises in futility then pound your head on the ramp. You will get the same results as what you will get in negotiations. The chance was offered, you said no, now you need to sit back, work under the old rules, and wait your turn.
