What’s next? How about a Grand Wizard heading up civil right? Jack Abranoff heading up Lobby reform? The Mafia can be building code enforcement. Logging industry can head up environmental reform along with the oil and chemical companies.

What a completely asinine appointment. With any luck women will remember this and the silence of his party come 2008.

Yea, I agree. I wish someone who believes in and strongly promotes public sex orgies, bestiality, man-boy, son-mother sex, you know everything goes with any flavor ones desires. After all we were born to be like wild animals and God is just for emotional cripples and freaks and geeks who are afraid of taking a walk on the wild side.

I'd support this appointment if and only if - they provide superior funding for prenatal care for those who cannot afford it. He's pro abstinance sex education and anti abortion...that means that there's going to be a lot of "accidental" babies. Now maybe these girls should have "kept their legs together", but they didn't. And a baby is going to be the result. They need excellent prenatal care, because after all, couples who can't have babies and want to adopt would prefer adopting a healthy baby, not one that is at risk because the mother didn't have access to adequate prenatal care. And that's tax money...and from what I read, those on the right who support abstinence only sex educatation and oppose abortion are also likely to oppose any form of "government handout".

And don't forget about all the illegal babies being born daily, especially in Texas. As a nation we must support the entire planet. I know our taxes will send us all into personal bankruptcy, but after all isn't that the Godly thing to do, sacrifice ones self for everyone else who doesn't take personal responsibility.

We can’t take care of the planet nor morons who don’t know the meaning of personal responsibly whether it’s their fault or not. Where do you draw the line and when? If things continue like the Libs would like them, then this country is finished, either by our own doing or God will finally do what he said he will do, judge the unrighteous, and his wrath is mighty!

What is a wonder is that we are spending 283 million dollars for this department. What's the point?

700...you put a person who doesn't believe in birth control in charge of a family planning office. You also don't believe in abortion. So...kids being kids, "unwanted" babies are going to be born. Is the good conservative Christian thing to do is let the innocent baby suffer a lack of prenatal care so that it can be born retarded or at high risk...lessening it's chances of being adopted by a family that wants a baby??

I don't know what you're reading but I can guess by your spreading the untruth that those on the right would not support caring for anyone that makes a mistake or can't care for themselves.
I don't support abortion in any way, shape or form and I support abstinence. I've said this before so it's no secret. I've also said I would support caring for those that can't care for themselves which would include those that you mentioned above.
What I would disagree with is your assertion that they don't get prenatal care now. Anyone that can't afford prenatal care and shows a need is covered now so how is it they don't get the care they need?

Yeah, what an awful appointment. God forbid another way of thinking be thrust upon the people right? Enjoy your power.

Like the book so accurately states...Liberalism is a Mental Disorder which can be verified by reading such___fill in the blank

The point is that many on the right do not support social programs because it's tax money that funds it. All too often the refrain is heard "she should have kept her legs together"...because they don't want their tax money going to support 'freeloaders'. Yes...they get prenatal care now - thanks to those evil "liberal" policies. But if the neocons had their way....teach them abstinance only, and if they fail that course - point out "personal responsiblity".

Why socialism doesn't work

"Enough generations of socialist policies have now passed for us to judge their effects. They are bleak. Socialism undermines the character of a nation and of its citizens. In simpler words, socialism makes people worse... Socialism teaches its citizens to expect everything, even if they contribute nothing. Socialism teaches its citizens that they have a plethora of rights and few corresponding obligations—except to be taxed.

"And that is why the citizens of less socialist — and more religious — America give more charity per capita and per income than do citizens of socialist countries. That is why Americans volunteer time for the needy so much more than citizens of socialist countries do. That is why citizens of conservative states in America give more charity than citizens of liberal states do. The more Left one identifies oneself on the political spectrum, the more that person is likely to believe that the state, not fellow citizens, should take care of the poor and the needy.

"Under socialism, one is not only liberated from having to take care of oneself; one is also liberated from having to take care of others. The state will take care of me and of everybody else... The socialist idea sounded altruistic to those who began it, and it sounds altruistic to the naive who believe in it today. In practice, however, it creates self-centered individuals and a narcissistic society. So while it may have begun as a way to help others, it has come to mean a way of evading responsibility for oneself and for others".

—Dennis Prager

So, I take it that you don't support government funded prenatal care for those who can't afford it?

We wouldn't need to worry about prenatal care nearly as much if people would stop having premarital sex. I think this is a great appointment.
