152 Crash North East of CYOO

Canadian Flight Academy in Oshawa had another accident today involving one of their aircraft. Radio reports that a 65 year old student pilot crashed just north east of the air field, good news is that his injuries are non life threatening. Apparently he was the sole occupant of the aircraft.

Does that mean he was solo, or did his instructor get out while the getting was good?
