AA to increase JFK flights in the Fall

Focus apparently on service to JFK not from JFK. Treating New York as a destination, not an origin city.

Summer to be a mess at JFK. Runway13L/31R to be rebuilt with concrete instead of asphalt. AA even got permission to temporarily shelve some of their 111 slots in order to ease expected congestion.

Seems to me like JFK is becoming a feeder station.

WeAAz, there is NO increase in JFK transatlantic travel. JFK-FCO just started up again for the summer as it is seasonal. We already lost the 2nd JFK-CDG.
There are only 9 transatlantic flights from JFK. We used to have way more to other countries. That's it for the gateway to Europe. The big change is that they are all 777's.
For AA, PHL is the new gateway to Europe.
BTW. did you notice what PHL added?

Well, at least we spent the money for BA to have a truly first class terminal at JFK.

We have mailline flights LGA/Phl with nothing but connections.Europe for the summer.People say PHX first to be pulled down but if it weren't for the slots i think it would be JFK
