On July 12, 2013, Alaska Airlines Flight 769 made an emergency landing in Chicago with four flight attendants seriously ill after complaining of noxious chemical fumes in the cabin. Two of the flight attendants passed out, including Vanessa Woods.

"The next thing I knew was on the galley floor, and the other flight attendant was on the PA system just mumbling incoherently," Woods told NBC News.

American Airline Passengers Fall Ill on Second Flight This Week

American Airlines Group Inc. is examining another Boeing Co. 777-200 aircraft after passengers and flight attendants fell ill on a second international flight this week.

Flight 904 was en route to Miami from Rio de Janeiro when it diverted to Brasilia after three crew members and one passenger said they felt light-headed, Matt Miller, an American spokesman, said Friday in an interview. Those affected were examined by paramedics at the airport early Friday and declined further medical treatment, he said.
