On August 9, 2007 at 9:00 AM the AMTA will unveil another bronze bust of Charles E. Taylor to the American Airlines/TAESL Facility. The event is to take place in front of TAESL. Because this area is in a secure area American Airlines emplyoees from DFW/AFW/TAESL who are not on the clock can attend. they do need their security badges and IDs.
August 9 was chosen to unveil this particular bust because on this date TAESL will have produced their 1500 engine. With Charlie having produced the first aircraft engine this is a nice tie-in. If there are any questions about this event you can e-mail me. This bust was purchased by donations made by the TWU ATD. Sincerely, Kenneth MacTiernan Director AMTA

The AMTA on August 9th unveiled our fifth donated bronze bust of Charles E. Taylor! This bust was donated to American Airlines' Maintenance & Engineering Base at AFW, Texas. Recognition for aviation's first aircraft mechanic is growing strong. The AMTA is still accepting donations for the U.S.A.F.A. bust and we are working on plans to announce two more bust donations! The National AMT Day Resolution has received a 12 co-sponsor, Representative Jim Marshall from GA. Please visit the AMTA web site, WWW.AMTAUSA.COM, for photos from the AFW event as well as the National AMT Day Resolution co-sponsors and more. Thank you for your support. Sincerely, Kenneth MacTiernan Director AMTA
