A lot of give and take around the industry

AirTran adding more Florida flights from Pittsburgh

Beginning Feb. 14, AirTran will add nonstop service from Pittsburgh to the Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers. The carrier will operate one daily round-trip flight on the route. Also beginning the same day, AirTran will increase its service between Pittsburgh and Tampa to daily flights from Saturday-only and begin daily service between Pittsburgh and Fort Lauderdale. The carrier announced the latter two routes last month. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writes that AirTran's "new flights were in the works before US Airways announced last week that it would be dropping another 40 daily flights in Pittsburgh in January."
