In last week's issue of the Economist, out-going PM Tony Blair publishes an essay in which he looks back upon decisions made. It's a fantastic read and I include the Economist link to the Blair essay here. ( luckily, the Economist has this essay on the open part of their web content ).

I've always been fascinated by the Bush/blair relationship because they come from different sides of the political spectrum. Mr. Blair remains convinced that he makes the correct decision to engage the UK in Afghanistan, Iraq, and other parts of the world. And he is completely convinced that terrorism should be confronted, both militarily, ideologically, and socially.

But make no mistake, Blair is not Mr. Bush's lap dog. The US media which frequently picks up Economist articles and incorporates their themes into their own coverage has kind of side stepped this story. No surprise here as it contains "inconvenient truths" which don't mesh with the liberal and media point of view being thrown at the Bush dart board.

Hope that you folks find it an interesting read.
