BOS Pilots,

Copied below is the schedule for the Joint MEC Meeting called by John Prater on Tuesday, July 17, in Washington DC.

As you can see, there'll be plenty of time to eat, drink, and socialize, all the telltale signs of the beginning of a full-court press to make us one happy family again and out on the street picketing together for a Single Contract.

I plan to attend, because there's a message I want to deliver, and that message is that regardless of the arguments swirling around this Award, there is one truth that everyone needs to understand. This Award is not acceptable to the East because it will plunge us into a civil war between the have and have-nots the magnitude of which is beyond comprehension. We will not allow that to happen, ALPA National should not allow that to happen, and no amount of "consensual" Band-Aid "fixes" will change this fact, nor allow either of us to escape from our responsibilities.

What messages are the other AAA Reps going to deliver? Don't know for sure, they may be planning on not saying anything at all. Maybe now's a good time to ask them.

As for me, I don't believe that you elected me to go to a meeting of this magnitude and not express the views of the AAA pilots. And to date, I have not heard from one pilot who has told me that they are willing to accept the Nicolau Award.

I can tell you that I'm not going to accept it, and will do everything in my power to ensure it stays on a dusty shelf and never sees the light of day on US Airways.

Respectfully,

Garland

Guess your reps are too stupid to realize they agreed to binding arbitration the National has no choice to accept it and you are wasting your time.

You have never met a concession you have never liked.

This is the same clown who said that he'd resign his position if ALPA accepted the award. We'll see if he delivers on his promise.

And so would throwing out a binding arbitration decision. This is the dilemma that we have on our hands. There is no apparent solution to this mess. The East says they cannot live with Nic's and the pilot neutrals' ruling while the West cannot live with ALPA throwing out a binding arbitration that took two years and a large sum of money to resolve or having another union forced on them. If this becomes the "civil war" that both sides are threatening then then unfortunately there will be a lot of innocents in other employee groups that will bear some of the costs of this mess. I offer my apologies in advance to them.

Ask the "clown" what he had to say when it was time to give away the pension. And don't believe what he says today.. He is one of the first to get in line to shop for the vote of the junior end of the list. He doesn't fool anyone.

Still nothing from the east's MEC or councils telling you guys pay parity is a no go.

Amazing.

How about pairity in the drug and alcohol policy.

COMPANY POLICY Employees who violate the Company’s drug or alcohol policies are terminated. Return to duty testing is available only to employees who voluntarily disqualified themselves from duty.

Return to duty tests will be given to employees immediately upon their return to work, at the start of their shift. An employee’s breath alcohol concentration test result cannot exceed 0.000 in

I hate to defend the actions of Parker but he wasn't on the job when the alcohol incident occurred. If Us Airways started terminating everyone who gets a DUI or has had a drinking problem then I'm sure our seniority list would shrink significantly. A zero tolerance off duty policy would go both ways....

Sweet thread hijack......

So you're saying that there is actually an East guy who would vote against replacing ALPA? Wow, this is what it must feel like to actually see Bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster (Both of whom are rumored to be senior F/As out of PHL, buddy bidding the Milan trips)

Nice Freudian slip. Unless you're not an LCC employee, Doogie is your boss too. Looks like Junebug is right about you.

Because of the highly public nature of the position, as CEO, you are "on the job" pretty much 24/7. Why the BOD hasn't bounced him yet is beyond me. Lack of judgement is a very serious matter, and is what it is. The fact that Doogie has displayed such a severe lack of judgement even more than once shows a lack of dedication to being responsible. Who wants that kind of person running an airline? Lakefield was the brains the behind the merger, Doogie is just the public face of it; Doogie has no talent or know-how for running an airline.

Doogie has no talent or know-how for running an airline.

Say it again.

Proved each and every day.

I especially like the movie screen on one 767, replaced by taped sheets of white paper, a perfect metaphor for Tempe.

The fact that 767 parts are kept in AZ, while no 767 goes west of the Miss. River.

The fact that Dougies great "out-sourced" "upgrades" do not also upgrade weight and balance, resulting in transatlantic aircraft flying with the wrong and unsafe W&B numbers, for weeks after discovery.

The fact that the "new computer system", Dougies PDA on drugs, cannot give a proper load from one minute to the next (promised fix in seven weeks - well after the summer rush), cannot deliver a consistent standby list from one computer to the next and staffing is moronically low (pilots should refuse to "help out" when min staffed cabins need min staffed agents). I could go on, and on, and on.

I used to think US might make Christmas. Unless something drastic changes, no employee should expect a christmas paycheck, much less "christmas bonus".

You can bust that by using your favorite mouthwash. This policy sounds pretty hypocritical.

I never thought we would get parity. We can live with what we have. You will not see our left seat anytime soon. It doesnt matter if we decertify or not. So dont worry to much about us sweetie.

Sounds just fine to me sunshine. Let's just agree to disagree and stay separate at this point. The less mingling of crews the better off I think we'll all be since there seems to be no unity amongst the troops. I don't blame East or West at this point. It is just the typical acrimonious attitude that seems to develop after each airline merger. Seems like we are our worst enemies. Long live the whip saw!
