Only obliquely relevant to United perhaps, but I am sure that they, as does any airline, continually looks at the supply of aircraft on the world’s market.
What I find most troubling about this article however, is that Monsieur Forgeard only walked away with a 2.5m Euro after tax profit when he liquidated his positions. In the high-stakes market of execs who have ridden down formerly good companies, I am a little disappointed in his abilities to extract great wealth from the firm before it implodes. One would have thought better of him as I would have expected him to have decanted at least 10 to 15m before walking through the door.
