SAO JOSE DOS CAMPOS, Brazil, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Embraer (NYSE: ERJ - News) announced today that it has been granted final type and production certification for the EMBRAER 170 airliner from the Brazilian Centro Tecnico Aerospacial (CTA). A letter of recommendation from the European Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) and issuance of a final type certification by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will follow shortly.

Embraer's new 170 jet gets green light from FAA

SAO PAULO, Brazil, Feb 20 (Reuters) - Brazil's Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica (NYSE:ERJ - News; Sao Paolo:EMBR4.SA - News) said on Friday it had received the final certification it needs before its new Embraer 170 model jet is allowed to fly in the United States.
