Who cares? I know who's president now. Cause there was somebody there before Bush, Bush gets a pass on crappy economic policy?

The repulicans control everything, and have for a while now, they act like they know better, but instead of fixing the economy they are wasting time on a few stupid judges. They contol the agenda, WTF? Bush runs his mouth about SS# going to go bust in 40 years or whatever, but we are running the government at 68 cents on the dollar TODAY? Ah, whats the point.... Just tell me how many years the conservatives have to be in power before its ok the bame them for anything...

I personally don't think the SS plan is a the best solution. It's better than the current plan, but not the best course.

What we need to do is induce the U.S. consumer to save more, while other countries (Japan, France, Germany) induce it's citizens to save less. One way is to "convince" people that saving is good, and the SS plan that "forces" them to "give it a try" is one method. Another method, and my perfered route, is through our medical system. The 65 YO GM retiree needs to make a choice, more viagra, or more money. The current system encourages wasteful medical spending. Flt fee's for perscriptions, and "use it or loose it" MSA are incredibly stupid. We need to make the decisions. More anti-cholesteral medication, or less eggs and more exercise. More Viagra, or more lingerie. When an MSA isn't used up, the money should roll into YOUR retirement account TAX FREE. don't "force" me to go buy gag glasses for next halloween from lense crafters just to empty my account annually.

Oil, oil, oil, oil. GM's woes are caused by the high cost of oil. GM is only a sympton of what the economy is going through. It is obvious the economy is extremely strong to withstand high energy prices; however, how long can it go on? So far the stock market is saying status quo for the next 6 months. Who knows? Oil seems to be stabalizing around $50 per barrel. That can't be good, but at least it is not soaring to $100 like some predicted...at least not yet.

There are all kinds of trip wires out there. Iran, North Korea, China, Taiwan, Syria, Egypt, terroists, and Venezuala just to name a few. The world is an extremely dangerous place today. It kind of makes you wish for the days of M.A.D. and the Cold War.

TODAY? Ah, thats the point.... J

forgot about the last 40 or more years already? does it hurt??funny looks to me like the only way is the dem way....they can't come to grips with not being in control anymore.
those few stupid judges mean a lot to people who hold the constitution and its principles to heart..judges aren't supposed to legislate from the bench....dude.
just tell me how many years the conservatives have to be in power before its ok the bame them for anything...
get back to me in 45 years......
They contol the agenda, WTF? Bush runs his mouth about SS# going to go bust in 40 years or whatever, but we are running the government at 68 cents on the dollar
lets wait until 2040 to fix SS then.....

As I have said in the past the dem way IS NOT THE ONLY WAY FOR ME, which I have demonstrated with my support in 2000 of john mccain. BTW arguing party is side stepping the issue, the current guy sucks as far as the economy is concerned.
