Just curious how long you think Doup P. will stay now that he has cashed in his stock options.

Anyone want to start a wager?

I give him 3 more years then he bails.

$5.00 bet

Winner takes all?

Just long enough to merge with a cost neutral airline emerging from bankruptcy or after US Airways enters bankruptcy for the 3rd time, which ever comes first :p

If history is used as a guide, he will leave in 2007 shortly after the two airlines are integrated. Take the money and run is the norm. There is more money to take before he runs now. Because of his “perceivedâ€￾ expertise, he will then go on to another airline, that wants to combine operations

You make it sound like he is doing something wrong.

If he can get more money as a result of the US Airways revival God Bless him.

If someone gave me a billion investment to run a company, that just left BK, I would look good too for the near term. Almost every airline made money this quarter. I hope for his employees he does well. Greed is not always good.

you guys are morons. DP is here to stay at least for the forseeable future. He could have cashed out of America West anytime he wanted to over the previous 11 years but he didn't.

Running an airline is in his blood and his goal is to be the "savior" for us airways and turn it into one of the most profitable, best-run, efficient airline in the domestic US. If it was only about the money he would have cashed out by now. Much of his compensation is "at-risk" meaning it is stock options, etc...dependant on the success of the airline.

did you say the best run ,efficient airline in the domestic US? Do you mean to say its an oxymoron rather than calling us morons?

That is what was said about Bugsy Siegel.

Well, you better tell him to get his butt over to PHL or CLT on a Sat night (1 cleaner, no catering, big delay for bags), before this place implodes, again.

DP needs to spend some time dealing with our express operations and DP has already cash in big time just not cash out yet

Doug will stay until his position becomes untenable. That will only happen when he, 1) loses complete control of labor group negotiations, 2) loses the ability to spin meltdowns at the hubs, and 3) decides there is no more cash he can squeeze out of the company for himself and his cronies.

My opinion. Opposing views are encouraged.
