C'mon JetBlue Mechanics and Related. More airlines and Mechanics groups are choosing AMFA for their representational entity and going with the Mechanic specific Class and Craft Union, AMFA. Get those cards in folks, make sure you are represented prior to merger complete with Spirit.
Congrats to the L3 employees for choosing AMFA Representation;

National President Welcomes L3 Technologies MAS at CFB Trenton Aviation Professionals
October 3, 2022 -- AMFA is extremely honored that the professionals at L3 Technologies MAS (L3) at Trenton, Ontario have chosen us to represent you as your union. We look forward to starting the collective bargaining process and working to increase the standards in your workplace. The focus of AMFA will be to build the craft/trade, highlight and recognize the importance of aircraft maintenance engineers, aircraft technicians and apprentices (the maintenance group), and occupational support services (OSS). You should be extremely proud of your accomplishment in becoming the first AMFA-represented trade group in Canada. Canada is among the top five most prosperous countries in the world and has a vast unionized workforce that includes more than 100 Aerospace and Defense Contractors, many wanting a trade-specific union like AMFA.

How many threads are you going to post the same garbage that has nothing to do with this airline?

Attention to all my fellow mechanics and related at JetBlue: Time to get those cards in before the purchase of Spirit Airlines is completed. Have your voices heard at the table during integration negotiations. Yes, there are new laws and guidelines to follow, but they still must be "negotiated" and agreed to by both sides. Don't go into these nego's unrepresented. Even your ground workers are said to be looking to get organized union representation prior to this merger. Good luck to all. Below is the official press release of more work groups bringing in AMFA representation, the fourth or fifth to do so in 2022...

The TWU is America’s Fighting Union. We have a proven track record of negotiating good contracts that protect seniority, enhance scope, and prioritize the interests of workers. During two acquisitions, we secured seniority integration that was better than dovetail for workers at the acquiring carrier. We’re ready to fight for seniority integration, the best possible paid time off policy, compensation, and more for workers.
In past negotiations, AMFA has fallen short of delivering contracts s that prioritize workers’ needs. Need proof? Just look at some of the provisions in the contract AMFA negotiated for workers at Southwest Airlines:

There is no minimum employer 401k contribution
Overtime is mandatory, even on days off
80% of Southwest’s maintenance budget is spent on outsourced work
The airline outsources eight lines of heavy maintenance to foreign vendors
The minimum headcount is just 2.75 mechanics per aircraft

AMFA lacks the experience necessary to win a contract that is best for JetBlue Tech Ops workers like you. AMFA has never negotiated a first-time contract or negotiated a contract with JetBlue – the TWU has successfully done both.

You deserve to be represented by a union like the TWU that will fight for your job and hold the line against outsourcing. The TWU won the best contract in the industry for maintenance workers at American Airlines. That’s the power of the nation’s largest airline union.

We represent over 155,000 transport workers across the United States and have 85+ years of experience empowering them with economic security, job stability, and protections that keep good union jobs here in the United States.

We’re committed to advocating for YOU throughout the entire acquisition process and beyond.

Interested in learning more about why the TWU is the best union to represent JetBlue workers? Join our Facebook group and message us with any questions.

*Who is part of the Mechanics and Related (M&R) craft/class?
According to the National Mediation Board, workers in the Technical Operations department are classified as members of the M&R craft/class. This includes Maintenance Controllers, Line Technicians, Quality Maintenance Planners, Heavy Maintenance Planners, Maintenance Operations Planners, Tech Support Specialists, and Minimum Equipment List (MEL) Specialists.

I have to offer a correction -- the casino workers requested to be disaffiliated with the TWU...

Apparently things just didn't work out.

Add that to the list of TWU Successes... right up there with French Military Victories.

Refer to pages 3 and 4 since you obviously missed my responses to you regarding this issue.

How many M&R are employed by Alaska Airlines if your Union wants to make comparisons.

I highly suspect that both AMFA represented carriers have far fewer members employed than most of the other carriers that don’t have AMFA in house. Including even non union Delta Airlines.

Union Industry Update:
JB Mechanics,
We all now know the IAM was rejected by the fleet group for representation all the while WestJet just filed for AMFA Representation. Would like to see you guys become the 8th Airline to bring AMFA's Class and Craft Mechanics Union for Representation, keep those cards flowing in;

Should Spirit AMT's get 1 for 1 seniority if Jetblue is allowed by the feds to purchase them?

One for one is really the only fair way of doing it, regardless if you're in a union or not.

What Americans unions did to TWA was absolutely shameful.

Bull hit. Free riders shouldn’t get to gain off the backs of those who “paid” their dues. Not if they’re merging.

Of course though those who are non union are going to think they can open my refrigerator and make a sandwich any time they please.
