London Riots

Could it happen here?

It already did. Los Angeles 1992, and in Watts before that.

As for today, let's see... A large group of marginalized people who feel like they have nothing left to lose deciding to rise/act up?

Nah, those people don't exist in America... Right?

Marginalized people who enjoy hefty craddle to grave entitlements at the expense of tax payers? Such a hard life. And yes the party of food stamps and downgrade are wanting the same here in the USA.

Well the Party of the Earned Income Tax Credit is equally to blame. Take a look at the amount of money redistributed via the EITC, then ponder what impact that program has on waste & sloth here in the United States.

Bonus points if anyone can tell me which Evil, Vile, Liberal had the EITC enacted on his watch?

You are really grasping lately. Kind of surprised how off your game you are. Time for a vacay perhaps?

People want jobs/or social programs with an income ‘to survive’. Merika has a ‘built in’ underclass that has never worked and propagated it with immigration freebees. Now, by some miraculous decision, this underclass is expected to carry their own weight without prospect of employment ‘to survive’. The republicrats want to slash social programs that have been in place for decades without providing jobs ‘to survive’.

IMHO, this generation will not stand submissively in a soup line.
B) xUT

I see the troll was at it again. All anyone has to do is read the reports to see that politics was not part of the issue.

I have not read anything to indicate that the looting as for financial gain. From what I have read the looting is largely the result of the heard mentality. The people are just ticked off. Similar to the Rodney King riots in LA.

Black guy shot was the excuse. Now its pissed off Liimey's not getting everything they should get from their Nanny.

Just like Wisconsin...Unions protested rightfully at first then the coat tail socialist/communists showed up at a target of opportunity.

Funny, this crap rolled through the ME countries and is still rolling....and now the more 'civilized' countries of Europe are falling prey also.

Read a good book a while ago called ' The Coming Insurrection' - seems things are going as indicated in the book......coming to a country near you soon.

If they had jobs, they wouldn't be marginalized. With no jobs, now is not the time to 'recreate' the empire.

That would be Republican Gerry Ford in 1975, if I am correct.

Yes

From WikiPedia:

Enacted in 1975, the initially modest EIC has been expanded by tax legislation on a number of occasions, including the widely-publicized Reagan Tax Reform Act of 1986, and was further expanded in 1990, 1993, and 2001, regardless of whether the act in general raised taxes (1990, 1993), lowered taxes (2001), or eliminated other deductions and credits (1986).[3] Today, the EITC is one of the largest anti-poverty tools in the United States (despite the fact that most income measures, including the poverty rate, do not account for the credit).

Other countries with programs similar to the EITC include the United Kingdom (see: working tax credit), Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, France and the Netherlands.

So it seems that our Republican friends are also quite happy confiscating your wages and giving it to others. Ao I don't NEED a vacation bearly as much as others need to opne their eyes to the Great Washington Shell Game.
