MD-11 Accident - Japan Mar 22

It looks like right before touching, the nose went from nose-high attitude (as it should be on all a/c, I assume) to suddenly being down as if the nose gear touched first. I'm guessing that ain't good.

Jim,
The DC-10 would pitch up on landing when the spoilers deployed. I assume the MD-11 is the same. From the video it look like the aircraft bounced off the very beginning of the runway, which would deploy the spoilers if they were armed. When the nose pitched up they must have tried to compensate by pushing the nose down and it appears they over compensated, hitting the nose and bouncing again. This time with the roll. Sad to see this happen.

My prayers are with the families.

The port wing impacted the ground and a fire erupted. The MD-11 rolled further onto its back and slid off the runway.
