Norwegian airports to deploy Saab’s air traffic surveillance technology

Norway's air navigation service provider Avinor Air Navigation Services (Avinor ANS) is deploying Saab's wide area multilateration (WAM) technology for air traffic surveillance across the country's airports.[SIZE=12.8px]Replacing Avinor's legacy radar systems, the new NORWAMs will integrate the air traffic surveillance data across the country, and feed it to the ARTAS (advanced surveillance data system) tracker.[/SIZE][SIZE=12.8px]Avinor ANS managing director Anders Kirsebom said: "Saab's technology will help us to provide the best possible service to our customers in the coming years, at a lower cost than traditional radar."[/SIZE]
