Pilot Shortage?

I heard a rumor that AirTran has been cancelling flights because they are short on pilots. Is there any truth to this?

What are the qualifications of recently hired pilots? Is 4400 TT and 1200 turbine PIC competitive?

I don't work for AT but I would imagine that your times would be quite competitive. Most majors seem to like at least 1000 turbine PIC. Good luck to you.
