Porn on Flights!

End of the second paragraph:

Oops my mistake.

Anyway back OT,

The access is controlled by the wifi vendor. Gogo for instance is blocking out skype and other internet phone access to prevent access.

While the blocking may not be a bad idea. Blocking the stuff will not guarantee anything. People always find ways around it.

Besides people can already bring porn onboard so it is not like it is a new issue. It was always possible through DVDs, magazines, video Ipods, and laptops.

So if a person was so hell bent on watching porn on a plane they more than likely will regardless of Wifi.

There's already porn on the airplanes. Have any of you noticed the overweight, hairy-back men in the wifebeater tees and the exercise shorts with no underwear. Or, the women with the stretch pants stretched to unbelievable limits? At least, the DVDs will bring some level of professionalism to the porn.

On a more serious note, as a flight attendant I am grateful beyond words that the FCC decided to continue the ban on cell phones, and for the decision by whoever to block the VOIP services on the onboard Internet. We all know that if phone conversations had been allowed the f/as would end up spending their time refereeing the arguments about who was talking too loud; who was making it impossible for someone else to conduct their "important" business, etc.

The laptop privacy screens go along way towards discretion....

My seat mate sees only a black screen when I'm doing anything on my laptop from his/her viewing angle. They're cheap and well worth it. Not for the porn privacy, but for confidentiality issues. I see a lot of things I probably shouldn't see on other people's laptops that deal with sales campaigns, marketing numbers, etc.

Get a grip. FAs have been censoring passengers for decades on what passengers can and can't view or do. As a FA, I do not want some of my fellow FAs to be the guardians of good taste. Some cannot even wear thier new uniform without having a hem so high that sitting on the jumpseat is a porn show, or the others that say they are so religious as they skim from the liquor and soda sales saying the airline owes it to them. I mean come on people. I love the fact in the video that the spokesperson from AFA says that they have no security training at AA. I have seen that manual and the security training AA FAs receive is better than ours. Besides, AA FAs are not AFA, so why is AFA commenting on a group that is not part of our Union.
