Possible Arbitration Pending, West Employees to Join Profit-Sharing

May 30, 2006

On May 9, 10 and 11, your Airline Customer Service Employee Association, IBT-CWA negotiating committee reached four agreements on key issues with US Airways management. Negotiations on remaining issues may be decided by a neutral arbitrator.

Your negotiating committee and employer reached tentative agreements on the following articles:

Sick Leave;

Vacations;

Insurance and elimination of short-term disability; and

Holidays.

During two negotiating sessions in May, the parties were unable to reach agreements on the remaining open articles:

Hours of service;

Union security; and

Leaves of absence.

The parties continue to discuss these remaining open articles. As of late May, agreements have not been reached. Both sides are considering referring the dispute to a neutral arbitrator for a pending decision.

Updates will be issued when information is available.

East and West Profit-Sharing

East employees have agreed to include West employees in their profit-sharing pool immediately after this agreement is signed.

Does anyone know what they settled as far as vacation, sick etc.? It seems they negotiated but what was negotiated? Please post if you know where to get the info or where I can go. Thanx

I guess they came to some kind of an agreement.

TEMPE, Ariz., June 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- US Airways Group, Inc. (NYSE: LCC - News) has reached a final transition agreement with the Airline Customer Service Employee Association, an alliance between the Communication Workers of America (CWA) and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT), the two unions that represent the airline's 7,700 passengers service employees and reservations agents.

Final Transition Agreement is reached between US Airways and The Airline Customer Service Employee Association- IBT AND CWA
June 1, 2006
CWA

A final agreement was reached today, June 1st, to bring the former America West Passenger Service Employees under the existing CWA Contract covering the US Airways Passenger Service Employees. The Association leaders, made up of CWA President's and Local Representatives and Staff and IBT Bargaining Representatives and Staff worked many months to achieve this goal. The final agreement will greatly improve the pay, benefits and working conditions of our fellow brothers and sisters at America West, who were organized by the IBT shortly before the merger between US Airways and America West was announced. At the same time, the agreement continues to protect the rights under our contract for the CWA members at US Airways. The two Unions formed the Association, a unique and creative alternative to having a run-off election. The two Unions formed a strong and cooperative team to reach the goal of protecting the current contract language for the US Airways workers and providing the same protection for the America West workers under the same language in a timely manner. Please check back tomorrow morning and we will have a link to the actual agreement that you can view on this web page.

In Unity

Your CWA Presidents, Reps, and Staff.

How can they say it's giving us better benefits when it's taking away our short term disability? Will our long term disability still be free???? If you're taking away short term disability are you also taking away free vision? Will we have to pay for long term disability? Sorry folks but I said it a long time ago. HP benefits are much much better than US benefits. Is the sick time going to U's level type of sick time? I tried to tell you all the premiums paid at HP for insurance is 1/3 of what it is at U and we had free short and long term disability plus free vision. What is wrong with this picture if they're saying the new benefits are an improvement at HP. Someone needs to see a Dr.
