Steenland pushing for DAL merger...

Great link, thanks!

Pardus should go down in flames for the investments they made AND their choice of words for press releases.

Question: why didn't some sharp union lawyer @ NW recognize the value of that CO golden share and convert it to real value for the unions? Sell an option or something, I don't know.

Now NW will or could just disappear and the value of that golden share goes down the drain.

Although it is non transferable...I am sure a value of some sort could have been attached to it. After all, it did cost us $1/2 Billion initially (even though we got our money back)

" Citing sources familiar with the matter, the paper reported that a deal could be reached if Atlanta-based Delta (NYSE: DAL), which has been in talks with the Air Line Pilots Association union - the union that represents both of the carrier's 11,000 pilots - is able to strike a deal over pilot seniority lists.

Northwest operates three daily flights to Memphis and two daily flights to Minneapolis from Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport. It will begin one flight a day to Detroit next month. Delta offers six daily flights from Wichita to Atlanta.

The report detailed that Delta is in talks with the union, and is asking pilots to drop some restrictions on current labor agreements. That would provide a newly combined airline with more flexibility during the merger. In return , Delta pilots would get pay raises, equity and a board seat.

Northwest's pilots would keep their current contract, under which they are paid less than Delta pilots, the report said, which may pressure Northwest pilots to partner with the Delta group on seniority. "
