Two major airline bankruptcy filings on the same day in the same court would be an absolute first....
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Northwest Airlines Corp. and Delta Air Lines Inc. are both preparing to seek bankruptcy protection as soon as Wednesday, the New York Times reported on its Web site Tuesday, citing people close to both companies. Northwest and Delta are each finishing the details of their reorganization plans, including the financing that they will require to operate under bankruptcy protection, such people reportedly told the Times. That could cause delays, but the fundamental work of preparing each bankruptcy case is complete, the Times cited them as saying. If the filings are made on Wednesday, the first hearings would be on Thursday, according to the Times.
S'pose Delta and Northwest are collaborating about anything else?
