The fact is the unemployment numbers are very inflated because the federal government is giving people $600 a week to stay home.

It simply cost too much money to go back to work.

Why go get a $12 to $15 dollar an hour job when you can sit at home on your ass and collect 15 dollars an hour from the federal government plus state. In all likelihood unemployment is paying these people over 20 an hour, far more than most of them can get working.
That argument doesn't float.Every state has a clause on refusing a return to work and losing your UC. An employer pays a higher amount into your UC account when not employed and there is no incentive for him to keep you out of work.

Which ones?

Where is your proof? I proved my state does not require work searches. I gave 5 points of validation.

You always make these comments but you never validate what you say. Unless you can provide some proof that the majority of other states DO require work searches your comment about Oklahoma unemployment rules not being representative has no merit.

Alright delldude point taken.

I suppose if you are recalled to your former employer and you turn it down yes that would result in a denial of benefits.

However if you are laid off you have no incentive and no requirement to look for another job in the state of Oklahoma.

There are PLENTY of jobs out there, but who is motivated to take them?

So yes, saying 40 MILLION people are out of work is very misleading and more political than anything. They paint the false narrative that these people can not find jobs and that is absolutely not true. They are CHOOSING to stay unemployed.

Couple that with the people that have taken voluntary leaves of absence who are collecting unemployment.
So yes that $600 is absolutely resulting in inflated unemployment numbers and yes that statement absolutely holds water.
