Now these guys should be handed cudos, because obviously they are not all talk! They took action that could really screw peoples holiday travel plans! I wonder if the big boys can carrier enough fuel into JFK to stave off holiday disaster??? Hats off to you boys  !

MrFish---what do you know about unionism? Frontier?!?

And why does the fueler's strike specifically hurt the "big boys"? Have you ever even been to JFK? If so, you would know it is a rather diverse airport.

And since you seem to have a hard-*n for UAL, you'll be disappointed to know JFK is not one of their major hubs.

By the way, the managers took over during the holidays and fueling delays actually went down.

Give it time. Like sand in the gearbox the effect is not immediate. Right now Allied has scabs and managers doing the work however its costing them more for room and board (seems most of the scabsare white guys from the south-most of Allieds drivers at JFK are minorities) than to settle.

If the managers can handle the job without the workers indefinately then obviously they did not need the managers-who is doing the work they used to do? As far as the drivers on strike they can easily find work at other employers with their CDLs.

Whats really sad is that other unions on the airport have been silent over the whole thing. The strike started before the split from the AFL-CIO but these unions have made no attempt to get their members to show support.

Just imagine how much more effective their strike could be if everyone on the airport was Teamsters!
