United Airlines outsourcing leads to questions over aircraft safety

I have no doubt that the long term plan is to finish the outsourcing of maintenance on all levels. As far as the SFMOC goes, IMHO there are numerous obstacles wherein UA just can’t walk away.

One of the main issues ‘may’ be that UA has been in SF for 75 years and all the chemicals that have leached into the ground belong to them. I believe my last HAZMAT class mentioned that the soil is contaminated to about 30’ below ground level throughout the base. I don’t believe that UA can just walk away from the lease without performing a lot of chemical removal.
