Well, the "whipping boy" of the American economy, the airline industry, now has plenty of company. People employed in other industries who derided the airlines for poor service, poor financial performance and poor management can now take their turn being "stunned" by avarice and incompetence. Although 30+ years in the airline industry has rendered me a bitter, miserable wretch, I am actually saddened to learn mismanagement of the industry was neither rare nor exceptional; it was just first.

Were you placed against a wall in front of a firing squad, having company to the left and right of you would give you no comfort. And so it is for airline employees and shareholders. Nothing has changed, nothing has been fixed, they just have someone to share it with now.

Make sure you know what every candidate stands for in this election and vote according to your experience and your conscience.

This is only tangentially related to United Airlines. This thread is moved to the Water Cooler.
