Spurned US Airways Still Bullish on Airline Consolidation

The one thing that’s without question is that these sort of comments are a welcome breath of fresh air when compared to the corporate-speak you get from some other airlines. Not only is it clear, but it makes a lot of sense. If it weren’t for Doug and the rest of the US Airways management team, US Airways wouldn’t be around today.

Parker: US Airways will probably merge -- eventually

If one of those three - Delta, American and United-Continental - merge with anyone, it won't be with each other. It would be with the remaining hub-and-spoke carrier, US Airways, Parker said at US Airways' media day Wednesday.

Parker underlined that nothing's going on right now with US Airways, and nothing may happen for two years or five years.

 Eventually....really Doug? Eventually I will kick the bucket. Focus on running an airline and labor peace and someone MAY want to dance with you. Until then you are UGLY girl at the prom!

Today on media the executives of US Airways made an unusual announcement as a follow up to the numerous media regarding CEO Doug Parker's continuing commentary on US Airways merger activity. To that end the CEO and President Scott Kirby announced a first for CEO's!! A theme song.

When Payday Rolls Around

I’m dressing up in style for in a little while

I’m gonna ride into town

And every cowboy pal I know will lift his heel and toe

When payday rolls around.

And so I’m feelin’ fine because there’s lots of time

Until we’re all homeward bound

To work and slave with cattle, sweat and swear and battle

Until payday rolls around.

What does a cowboy do when all of his work is thru?

Just what I’m going do now.

With money to spend and jingle, off into town to mingle

With all my friends, I allow.

And maybe a blue-eyed gal will wait for her bronco pal

To ride o’er the hot desert ground.

True heart and golden hair know that I’ll soon be there

When payday rolls around.

I’m dressing up in style for in a little while

I’m gonna ride ......

And so I’m feelin’ fine because there’s lots of time

Until we’re all homeward bound

To work and slave with cattle, sweat and swear and battle

Until payday rolls around.

When asked why a Theme song for a CEO, Mr Parker replied "The song sums up our position on mergers in a unique way! one that clearly states our position"

The only way to get that labor peace is to cut loose the east pilot group. If not for them, everything would have been done long ago.
You guys never cease to amaze me.....I wonder who will have more seniority when you're in the unemployment line?
