US Express/Piedmont to take over operations at ANC

Hmm funny thing is arent the west agents IBT and not CWA?

And how many are/did get laidoff in LAS?

Let's clarify some of the above INFO. ONLY new stations are capped at $7.50-10.00 per hr. EN gets all holidays at TIME and HALF. You are wrong on the swap at 36 hrs. As long as you swap no problem however if you fall below 32 hr avg for two consecutive quarters by trading your shifts away you can be forced to PT.
The holidays when I was an EN agent (2005 to 2008) we got was New Yrs, Memorial, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Day but the mgr told us it was time and a half only for FT agents who worked actual holidays but for most of us we got scheduled off on purpose so we could get but 8 straight hrs. As for PT we didnt get hol as the mgr forced us to take off by not putting us on the schdule. Only reason I said bout the shift trades is because I know several of the agents in my old city who toild me they would be forced to PT meds if they go below 36 according to the memo they have. thanks for clearing it up. But I feel they should go union when they get the opportunity if not well i cant say anything but GOOD LUCK will need it

They work under CWA contract got a $5.00+ a hour raise plus cost of living raises
With attrition and no station closing with customer service it could have been worst
Like the ramp

It’s all about scope language
CWA 1999 contract only allowed CWA members to work all mainline flight with all the concession and two bankruptcies scope language has been beat up and vote out by its members. The company can now operate up to two mainline flights a day and to a station and contract it out

The scope language and ALL the concessions were very much encouraged by the CWA during BK1 and BK2. The very threat that the CWA leadership warned was "ratify or the judge will give you worse!" All the CWA memebership thought the IAM were fools not to negotiate but at least the senior ramp agents have a decent pension and no increased medical benefits (for now) as the CWA members have!

The IAM did negotiate, I was on the M&R negotiating committee, Fleet was next door to us and the Maintenance Training Specialist were there too and they were the only one out of the three IAM represented workforce that reached an agreement.

By law we were forced to negotiate.
