Problem is...Fokker is no longer around. Also the Fokkers are not as efficient as the MD's so the per mile cost will be a lot higher when you factor in more maintenance, fuel, down time and spares. They were in the desert for a reason.

On approach to Sea-Tac the other day, saw one at the Boeing museum. Will have to make a trip down there to look at her! Was at the Farnborough (sp?) airshow many years ago..got to talk to one of the first pilots. He had written a book on it and signed it for me...now if I could only find it! B)
