401K

"The 401(k) effectively FORCES individuals into mutual funds that as I just mentioned were notorious at the turn of the last century for defrauding the public of its savings. Ironically, these same executives had at the time, and still have, their company department of corporate attorneys. These secret departments do nothing but invent new ways for corporate insiders to suck more money out of the firm in the form of perquisites, stock options, and golden parachutes. This is the “new†form of executive stewardship over the shareholder value and employee retirement"

Georgia’s highest-paid executives
Median top executive compensation for 2007: $1,744,935.

It’s good to be the boss. The median compensation package for a high-ranking executive at one of Georgia’s top 25 public companies in 2007 was more than 45 times what the average Georgia worker made.

Not surprisingly, most of the 25 highest-paid managers are CEOs. Others hold different titles, and also near the top are some former executives whose pay was boosted by severance packages.

It's amazing the arrogance of these CLOWNs.............

We live in a world of the "have" and "have not's". Those who "have not" are always jealous of those who "have".

Its funny how these reports are geared to incite those who "have not" and compare the "Average Joe" against senior management, CEO's. CFO's etc. The "Average Joe" doesn't have the education nor skill set to be able to land a CEO position. Hence that's why he's an "Average Joe".

But the "Average Joe" could be proactive and go to college or business school, start at a low level job, earn your dues, put your self out there to achieve more, hustle and work your way up the ladder, etc. And after the 20-30+ years you finally are recognized for your efforts and knowledge and for what? To be paid the the same as the "Average Joe"?

Nobody handed to them on a silver platter. Stop whining about what other people have/achieved and go get a piece of yours.

Its free for the taking.

Most very intelligent people will never, ever be CEO of a corporation like you're speaking of and be groomed, yes groomed, for CEO of Coke or Delta, or any other major corporation, because they haven't gone to Yale, or some other Ivy league school, and been picked as an initiate into Skull and Bones, or any other secret good ole boys club.
And you see it's not that they're not intelligent enough, it's that their breeding and standing in society don't match what the upper crust is looking for.
You know, a high school classmate of mine, whose father was a district court judge in the town we lived in, when on to college at Southern Illinois University to study law. SIU law school students participate in mock competition against other law schools in the U.S. Funny it isn't the Ivy leaguers that usually place well in these contests.
You'll excuse me here "Dapoe" if I don't share your elitist attitude. You see my country has a Constitution,(capitalized because it means the world to me) that says that every man has the right to the pursuit of happiness. No where does it say that the upper crust has the right to steal the labor and fruits from others because, they're properly bred. Your "sort" of thinking is very much why we seperated from Britain and started this special country we live in. Let me know if I can buy you a one way ticket to anywhere else(outside of the U.S.), where you can practice your SNOBBERY.

I'm always ammused by Dapoes sort of thinking. He's for mammon, obviously, and put's that before and exclusive to any other values he may have.
I hope he's not, really, that small minded. This country is about so much more than elitism.

On the contrary most highly intelligent people are successful and function on a higher level then most.

We live in a free society where YOU have the very same opportunity as the next. If YOU think that YOU are kept under someones else thumb then that is in YOUR head only. That is the reason why a lot of "Average Joes" stay "Average Joes". They think that they could never attain the brass ring so why bother. Then they somehow feel bitter towards those who went out and achieved more then they ever have.

Constitution has nothing to do with my friend, as YOU are not forced to endure taxation without representation etc. Its called a JOB and if you don't like it, then you have the free will to quit and go work elsewhere. Nobody is keeping you in shackles an any given job, so whining about stealing fruits of labor is ridiculous. Conspiracy theories are only that, theories.

The small mindedness come from those who think they are under someones thumb and do nothing about it. If you want to achieve greatness, you have the opportunity as the next person does.

Like the famous Nike slogan says "Just Do It"

You have to ask yourself "Can you do it?" or you going to sit by and complain (in envy) for those that have?

Everyone get your pitch fork and get the biggest one of all, why go after small potatoes, chase after Bill Gates, since it appears that making money is against your beliefs

I find it very interesting that you take this tack, yet mock people at your own carrier who were trying to "just do it."

Why is that?

LOL...WTF are you referring to now?
Im not mocking anyone at DL???
Are you trying to twist this into an AFA thing again?

dapoes;
On this subject/thread I hate to say it but I agree with you.
Class envy, wealth envy ,conspiracy theories will get you no where.
Hard work, education will get you in the right direction.
We all have choices, make the ones that work for you.
That is why I love this country.
Sorry to steal a saying ,but
Be all that you can be.

Don't act so suprised; you know exactly what I'm talking about.

To repeat:

People at your own carrier were fighting for a better tomorrow for themselves. Rather than appreciate the time and energy they were putting into "just doing it" (or at the very least respectfully disagreeing and leaving it alone),you derided them, and did such juvenile things as post Successories posters to taunt them.

Classless and hypocritical. Period.

Since you're mgmt. at DL, maybe you can tell us NW'ers; is this the type of mentality we can expect from all of you guys?

What I have to say has nothing to do with class/wealth envy. I don't envy anyone, but I do believe in the independence of Americans from government and coporations.
People should not be able to steal the labor of other people with impunity. It's elitist classism, and has no place in a free country.
