This layer of management was practically done away with at the old US especially at the small and medium station.I guess this is the answer to more help on the front line

Great....now station managers will have someone that's non-union to blame when things go wrong.

somethings up ,you have to have ramp and inside experience
looks like their going to make a major ramp personal change

Usairways needs more c/s agents not shift mangers!I have been in CLT and seen 1 agent working a full 757,what kind of c/s is that agent giving to the pax.The hubs need people to drive the carts, push wheel chairs, are the shift mangers going to do that? Just what Usairways needs is more worthless mangers!

ABE,AVP,BUF,CHS,DAY,GSO,JAX,MHT,PVD,PWM,RIC,ROC,OTTAWA,
SDF,SJU,SYR,MONTREAL,YYZ,BTV,BOS,PIT,CLT,DCA,LGA,TPA.STL
RSW,RDU,PBI,ORF,MSY,MIA,MEM,MDT,MCO,FLL,BNA,HARTFORD,ALB,LAS, ALL GETING BETWEEN 1 AND 10 SHIFT MANAGERS WITH EXPERIENCE ON BOTH RAMPSIDE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE SIDE.
MUST BE A BIG UNION DEAL ON THE WAY . ALOT OF THESE CITIES USE EITHER CONTRACTORS OR PSA OR PIEDMONT . MAYBE A DEAL
OR MAYBE NOT WITH IAM OR TWU ,ANYBODYS GUESS.

Good supervisors roll their sleeves up and get dirty with the troops on a regular basis. Lead by example, Lead not by telling.

If we get the current CSS's back on the floor and out of the back office we will probably be over staffed. Today CSS's do as little floor work as possible, each day they spend 7 hours doing about an hours worth of administrative work for the manager. This is the best news IV heard in a long time. Two non-union goo-fers is all a manager needs, the other 10 CSS's will be a welcome addition to the daily floor coverage sheet. GO MR. PARKER!!!!!!

Does anyone know if in any of these cities where HP also operates/operated if the HP supes were just "slid" into the position? For example, maybe in MIA there were/are 2 HP supes, the new US now needs 6 Shift managers...were 2 of those spots given to the 2 HP supes? SO now the posting reads 4 shift managers needed? If so please PM me....am trying to find out why certain cities did not post these openings...they just put supes into the position....we seem to be heading in a direction where if you are a csr/csa the only way you can "move up" is to move out.....

As much as I hate to ask, how can one go about applying for one of those positions if they are on furlough? I am curently furloughed from one of those stations.
Thanks... 😀

I was considering applying for one of these in DCA as I have a degree, ramp experience, and I know quite a bit on the customer service side, but after looking at the salary I don't know if it would be able to sustain a living around D.C. and still make all my bills. It would be nicer to be closer to the girlfriend though!

The closer you get to her, and the Less that you will have no matter what the salary is.... 😉

hahaha...she doesn't even have to be close...she's 4,000 miles away right now and still sucking the money out of my pockets

The starting salary is a grade 24 anywhere from 27,000 up to about 42,000. With a college degree and three years experience, I'm wondering where I would fall.

in my city the jobs were not even posted...they were given to 2 people....does anyone know what the company's policy is on posting open positions? Also, I would not look at the requirements....the 2 we have do not have ramp experience and do not have degrees....

What is the hierarchy (sp?) in west only stations? In many of the smaller east stations, you had a station manager, a couple sups and then a handful of agents.

Management can do what they want with management no policy required.
