I understand Boeing was awarded the contract to upgrade the thin wing skin aircraft with new wings back in May. By the time they redesign it wouldn't actually start replacing them till 2011. If the later thicker skin wings are holding up why not start producing them now until the newer wings come on line. It would be nice if Fairchild Dornier (M7 Aerospace) would still have the plans and jigs from the latest version. The cracking they found this past week should be reason to expedite things.
