A300 Maintenance Problems

There is a rumor out there that Airbus met with company officials about replacing the A300's with either the A330 or the not yet built A350....Can anyone substantiate this?

I know that some higher ups visited Tolouse to look at the mockups for the A350. That's not to be unexpected, they probably don't want Boeing to get to comfortable.

I don't work in the industry just a FF, but wasn't there a rumor flying around about this a few years back? I wouldn't be surprise if AA ordered A333 1 for 1 to replace the A300's, and use the 787's to replace the 767's.

Seriously doubt they will order the A330. AA is trying to cut down on the number of fleet types, not add more.

Its a good thing they have a few 777's sitting around MIA all day to sub out the broken A300's. I dont know what they are going to do this fall when the 777's go back to doing LAX and the rumored BOG day trips.

I'm thinkin the quick way to cure the A300 probs is to reinstate 8 terminated AMT's..

Negotiating with terrorists usually doesn't work too well in the long run.

I'm suprised AA does not fly 777's to CCS and fill them up with cheap fuel.

The LGA firings have nothing to do with the A300 problems.. LGA doesn't see the A300....

If the mechanics at LGA wanted to protest the terminations, believe me, you would know it..

I returned from an A300 2 day trip and the plane certainly lived up to its awful reputation. First day we cxl out of JFK and deadheaded to MIa to pick up the rest of our trip which resulted in the loss of 3 hours. Yesterday we left MBJ right on time only to get in that quagmire called MIA. Seemed every flight to NYC had problems. We had a plane but then it went to another flight. Long story short...we were 2.5 hrs late arriving home at almost 1am. At least there was no traffic going home. A bit off topic...but the hotel in MBJ was really enjoyable. They allow crewmembers to buy the all inclusive for $10. So for 18 hrs we got all the food and drinks we wanted AND there was a full stocked bar for those who wanted. I would do the trip more often if I knew it wouldn't get gummed up every time.
