AA makes union an offer

This could be wrong, and the article doesn't give too much away.....but "non-traditional compensation and a contract extension" are not very favorable terms to be throwing around if you ask me. Non-traditional compensation sounds like profit sharing and possible raises tied directly to productivity. A contract extension would simply delay for however many more years having to bargain for a new contract....something that is greatly in the airline's favor if times stay good. This doesn't sound anything like a 5% pay raise effective immediately or anything like that.

Though you say that maybe AA cares about its employees, orwhatever else, it seems to me (though I am no expert at all), that the recent deal put forth to fleet service by US was a much better deal than AA is presenting here.
