AA pulls SNN-ORD

This isn't exactly a shocker. Did anyone really expect this flight to last ofter Open Skies? If anything, the article was right on when it says it isn't a surprise and that Continental and Delta would probably continue flights to SNN. That is what I see happening. AA might even start a new flight to DUB. Never know. Aer Lingus could provide feed for us from DUB to SNN on a prop for that matter. It is all of 20 minutes flight time between the two. I wouldn't be surprised if Aer Lingus alters their flight schedule and A/C size between the 2 cities as well. All things considered, Ireland and SNN especially, has really good access to nonstop Transatlantic flights.

I thought Aer Lingus was leaving 1-world (it wasn't their cup of tea, the airline wanted to transform itself into more of a LCC)???

They did and they are. Although AA and Aer Lingus kept their codeshare intact. I can say that the "service" provided onboard either companies A/C between DUB/SNN is gpoing to be exactly the same. Nothing. So their reinvention of themselves for that route wouldn't effect AA.
