Completely agree that "restore and more" is warranted because of this news. With a 7.5% increase, unit revenue will be down only 14% from first quarter 2008 levels. The days of milk and honey have returned. 😀

If things are so bad that unions have to continue to live with the same pay-scales they've had since 2002, then things are bad enough for management to give up their PUP payments or disperse them to everyone. Management can't say things are too awful for the unions to demand raises and then turn around and give themselves bonuses.

Well they can - but then you end up with the poisonous relationship between management and labor that you have at American now.
