Of interest to those flying around the Lower Mainland, especially Abbotsford.

WestJet has a new VFR arrival route into Abbotsford. It was designed in consultation with Vancouver Centre and saves us about 10 minutes of flying time but might be a bit of a surprise to various practice areas.

The proceedure is Day VFR, flights inbound on V300 will cancel IFR prior to Harrison Lake, turn South and fly the North side of the Fraser (avoiding CYA-132)turning South over the towers on the Northwest side of Sumas Mountain (maintaining 3000'' till South of the Fraser River) descending for a right base on 25 (or final 19).

I''m not sure if this has been posted around at YXX so I figured the VFR pilots might want to know. We''ll have it slowed back to 250kts till crossing the river and will try to have a good lookout but look for us too.

PS: WJ crews are supposed to co-ordinate with YXX Twr before cancelling IFR which should help keep us all in the loop.
