With the French people voting to return to their previous spending ways and the ways that have sent several other southern European countries finances to the edge of the cliff - compounded with the record lows for the Euro - which means jet fuel is at record highs - means that AF/KL's problems are far from over.

half of AF/KL's losses are what we would call one-time items in the US, related to their restructuring... reducing headcount.

Still, AF/KL needs to turn things around and so far their labor groups aren't terribly supportive of the company's plans.
